Cooke family members enjoyed cycling on South Bass Island. According to Rev. Henry Cooke, this photograph was taken during Esther Cooke’s second lesson. Rev. Henry Cooke wrote that “she did splendidly. She endeavored to knock down the fence, but she did splendidly anyhow….”
